Do I have to write my own messages?
Copy writing is included as part of your Pro Hold service. Our staff writers are very experienced and will create custom messages from the resource material that we collect from you; company brochures, print ads, newsletters or content from your web site. Your copy writing doesn’t end until you’re 100% satisfied!
Is it legal to play my favorite music or radio station on hold?
Not unless you pay very costly licensing fees to performance rights organizations like ASCAP or BMI. Playing music on hold is considered a public performance of the artists’ work. Any unauthorized use of music on hold, whether radio, CD or MP3, is prohibited by law. But the best reason for using Pro Hold is that you have control over all content. Pro Audio has licensed music libraries for “on hold” use and passes the licensing rights on to you.
Why should I update my message?
If you never change your message your callers will tune it out. You benefit the most when your organization makes a commitment to updating your message at least once a year. Updating two to four times each year may be advantageous. The reason why updating your message is so vital is that it insures the information in it will be current and your message will not become stale or repetitious like it would if you continually play the same music and message over and over again without ever changing.
Will it hook up to my phone system? What if I just have regular phones not a phone system?
If you have a phone system, the answer is yes! If you have phones like you might buy at an office supply store, in most cases the answer is still yes. Two and four line phones like those you purchase from an office supply store may require an additional on hold adapter along with the message on hold player.
